James Nesbitt

Born in 1966 in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, James Nesbitt is the son of a school headmaster. Jimmy, (James only when he's acting) had originally intended to follow in the footsteps of his father and older sisters, all of whom teach, but he discovered amateur dramatics in his late teens.

James Nesbitt went on to drama school from there, studying at London's Central School of Speech and Drama. Nesbitt is well loved for a diversity of acting roles, and well known from tabloid coverage of his tempestuous private life. James Nesbitt enjoyed huge TV success in quality one off dramas including 'Big Dippers' with Ralph Brown ,'Wall of Silence', 'The Miller's Tale' long running series' such as 'Cold Feet', and 'Murphy's Law' a character written for him. He has also starred in the British films 'Waking Ned', 'Lucky Break and the highly acclaimed and controversial film 'Bloody Sunday', James Nesbitt says 'You know, I've always been mouthy, always been one for the craic but I've never been fulfilled, I've always felt a bit empty somewhere. Now I can finally say I'm proud of myself.'
